Barbara is committed to safeguarding local bio-diversity and protected wildlife. Recently, she worked to campaign successfully against proposed changes to the Green Belt at Barton Moss that would have harmed local birdlife and their natural habitats. Barbara said: “I congratulate the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds on collecting 200,000 signatures nationally in their campaign to protect birds of prey. “Since 2003 nearly 2,000 incidents of crimes targeting birds of prey have been reported to the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds in the UK. I support giving priority to end the illegal killing of birds of prey. “John Loder and the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds do an excellent job raising awareness about the need to protect birds of prey. John travels the North West giving talks to people about the pleasure of watching birds of prey and preserving wildlife habitats. “I will continue to support the work of the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds and campaign to save our open green spaces and to protect local wildlife.” | |
