In September Barbara invited pupils from primary schools across Worsley and Eccles South constituency to take part in her 2013 Christmas Card Competition. There were over three hundred entries for this year’s competition.
The winner of this year’s competition is Jasmine Brockley, a Year 4 pupil from James Brindley Community Primary School in Walkden.
Barbara visited James Brindley Primary School to present Jasmine with the first prize.
The runner-up prizes were won by Isabelle Butler from James Brindley Primary School, and pupils from Peel Hall Primary School and Fiddlers Lane Primary School, plus a special Nursery Prize was also awarded to a 3 year old pupil from Hilton Lane Primary School.
“I was delighted to award first prize to Jasmine. Her design has been printed in full colour and is being used as my official Christmas card for 2013.
“The designs of the runners up were also very good and they feature on the back of the Christmas card. This year, for the first time, we also awarded a special Nursery Prize to a 3 year old pupil from Hilton Lane Nursery School for a wonderful Santa Claus design.
“We had over three hundred entries this year and the standard was very high, it was hard to choose a winner, but Jasmine’s design stood out.
“I would like to thank all pupils who took part in the competition, and the staff who worked with them on it. I would also like to thank the card sponsors Dean Group International, and the prize sponsors Tesco, Worsley Park Marriott Hotel, Namco Station, Laser Quest and The Lowry.
“Thanks and well done to everyone across Worsley and Eccles South who took part in or supported the competition.”
