MEMBER OF PARLIAMENT FOR WORSLEY AND ECCLES SOUTH

Barbara to run City of Salford 10k to raise funds for Christie Salford Appeal

Barbara is to run the City of Salford 10k Run on Sunday September 5th to raise funds for the Christie Salford Appeal.

Since being elected MP for Worsley in May 2005, Barbara has completed a number of runs to raise funds for local charities and causes. Now she hopes to raise money from sponsorship and donations by running the City of Salford 10k.

Barbara said:

“Everyone is touched at some time by cancer affecting a friend or family member. The Christie is a great hospital and it will be wonderful to have top class treatment for cancer delivered by Christie specialists in Salford.

“I hope local people and businesses will support my run through sponsorship or making a donation to the Appeal.

“I have not been able to do much training or exercise over the last few months due to work on the General Election campaign, so it will be quite a big effort to run as fair as 10k. I am determined to do this run to raise some more funding for this very worthwhile appeal."

To sponsor Barbara, please send a cheque made payable to ‘The Christie, Salford Advertiser’ to Barbara’s office at:

First Floor, 37 Manchester Road, Walkden, M28 3NS

Barbara will then forward all donations to the Salford Advertiser Christie Appeal.
