Barbara has congratulated Salford Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) following news that the Group has been rated ‘outstanding’ by NHS England.

Following regional and national moderation by NHS England, Salford CCG was awarded an overall rating of outstanding for 2015/16.  Salford is the only outstanding CCG in Greater Manchester.

Together with Salford Royal’s latest Care Quality Commission rating of ‘outstanding’, Salford is now one of only two areas in the country to have both the CCG and acute provider achieve the highest rating.

Barbara said:

“The results of NHS England’s extensive review highlights the outstanding standards of work that have been achieved by Salford CCG.

“Recognition was given to Salford CCG’s radical and integrated approach to the commissioning of services, as was the CCG’s work within the new design of the Greater Manchester devolution system of healthcare. The strength of leadership within Salford CCG was also commended, which is a particularly fitting legacy for Salford CCG’s chair, Dr Hamish Stedman, who is retiring this month.

“As a Salford MP I am proud to know that Salford CCG and Salford Royal set the standards to which other healthcare providers across the country aspire. This is a significant achievement and I congratulate the outgoing CCG Chair, Dr Hamish Stedman and Chief Accountable Officer, Anthony Hassall, and the entire Salford CCG team for their hard work and for this outstanding achievement.”
