Barbara backs Salford Council’s Energy Auction

GM fairer energyBarbara is supporting an energy switch scheme that will help local people get a better deal on their energy bills.

Salford City Council has joined with the other Greater Manchester councils to develop the Greater Manchester Fair Energy switching scheme, which could save households an average annual saving of £250 off their energy bills.

On 29th January the first of four online energy auctions will take place with UK energy providers.  The providers will be offered the chance to supply gas and electricity to people from across the area who have signed up to the scheme. The best value provider will be chosen and each person who has signed up will receive a personalised offer letter, which they can choose to accept or decline.

“The closing date to register to take part is Monday 28th January 2013.”
