Barbara celebrates £5.5 million Warm Front investment in Salford

Warm FrontBarbara has welcomed the news that over 5,000 local homes have benefited from the Government’s Warm Front Scheme to help tackle fuel costs.

Barbara said:

“I’m pleased that so many local people have benefited from the Warm Front Scheme and the measures on offer, such as loft and cavity wall insulation and new heating systems.

“To date nearly £5.5 million has been invested by Warm Front in our local area. The scheme gives our local economy a boost and helps reduce both energy bills and carbon emissions.

“There is also help available for those over 60 and not receiving a qualifying benefit, including a £300 Warm Front rebate scheme that has already helped 215 households.

“Over 200 local people are also currently receiving a benefit entitlement from energy company Eaga. This has seen their average weekly income increase by £25.

“I hope even more Salford residents will come forward and take advantage of this scheme to cut their energy bills.”
