Barbara Keeley presents Cup in memory of local woman

Barbara visited Walkden Royal British Legion to present the Karen Stott Memorial Cup for 2007.

The cup is presented to the winner of an annual snooker competition, at a special event held in memory of local woman Karen Scott, who was cared for at St Ann's Hospice during her illness. The event was organised by Karen Stott's family and friends and members of the Walkden Royal British Legion, and helps to raise much-needed funds for the Little Hulton hospice.

The final took place during the fundraiser, and the winner was Philip Bradshaw. Runner-up was Stuart Watt, and the losing semi-finalists were Robbie Watt and Bryan Chadwick.

After the presentation, Barbara said:

"St Ann's Hospice is well-known and well-loved by people in Walkden and Little Hulton and thoughout Salford. It is great that the Stott family and their friends have again organised a fundraising event for the Hospice in memory of Karen Stott.

"I visited the hospice a few weeks ago and I can see they are doing a great job in our community and throughout Salford. It is good to know that local people want to support the hospice in return for the great service the hospice provides for loved-ones and friends who stay there for treatment."
