Barbara Keeley MP

LABOUR MEMBER OF PARLIAMENT FOR WORSLEY AND ECCLES SOUTH

Barbara Marks Remembrance Sunday in Walkden

Barbara yesterday paid her respects to British soldiers killed in war. She joined local councillors at the Remembrance Sunday parade and service in Walkden before laying a wreath at the war memorial in Parr Fold Park.

Barbara said:

“Remembrance Sunday has a permanent place in the life of our country, and it is fitting that we mark the sacrifice of those who have given their lives for us in war. We should always use this day to remember those who fought and died for Britain in the First and Second World Wars, as well as the 15,000 soldiers who have died since 1945.

"It was a moving ceremony, and I want to pass on my thanks to Walkden’s Royal British Legion for again making the event a fitting tribute to our war heroes.”
