Barbara Keeley MP

Barbara meets business and professional women

Barbara Keeley MP recently met a group of professional women in Parliament at an event organised by ‘Business and Professional Women UK’.

Barbara is chair of the group of Labour women MPs. Barbara Follett, Minister for Women, also attended the meeting, where campaign issues such as human trafficking and prostitution were discussed.

Barbara said:

“Business and Professional Women does a good job supporting women at all stages of their careers, and it celebrates its 70th anniversary next year. We covered a number of subjects during the meeting, including looking encouraging more women to enter politics and public life.

"I talked about how the Labour Party supports aspiring women candidates and also how we run the Women’s Forums locally and training events nationally. We also talked about events in the year ahead and how MPs could work with their local BPW branch.”
