Barbara Keeley MP

Barbara meets Friends of Walkden Station

Barbara attended a meeting of the group Friends of Walkden Station.

The group have greatly improved the appearance of the station with flowere planting schemes and tidy-up sessions on Sundays. The group also campaign for improvements to rail services from Walkden.

Barbara commented:

"It was useful for me to attend the meetings for members and supporters of Friends of Walkden Station. The group have done so well since they started that they have been nominated for awards from ACoRP - the Best Station Adopters Group Awards and Salford City Council Community awards. I want to congratulate the group for the recognition of their work coming from these award nominations and I wish them success at the Award ceremonies."

"The campaigning for better rail services contunies. I support the group's call for the return of Sunday Services and I have agreed to take this up with Heidi Mottram, Managing Director of Northern Rail."
