Barbara Keeley MP

Barbara pledges to continue her support for local volunteers

Barbara has signed up to Volunteering England’s volunteering pledge to demonstrate her support for local volunteers.

Barbara pledged to recognise the value of volunteering in building a strong society, to promote positive messages about volunteering, to encourage more people to give their time by helping to free volunteers from red tape and to support organisations who support volunteers.

Barbara said:

“I will work hard to support volunteers and organisations that involve volunteers, both in Worsley and Eccles South constituency and across the country.
“Many people across Salford give their time to help others. As MP for Worsley I have met many local volunteers such as those who work to support carers at local branches of Crossroads Care and Age Concern. I recently visited Salford Heart Care’s Support Group to celebrate National Heart Month and I know what a great job the volunteers do there to help local people recover after illness.

“Volunteers contribute so much to local communities in Worsley and Eccles South and I want to make sure they are properly recognised for the excellent work they do.”
