Barbara praises organisation of Walkden Music Festival

Barbara joined local families and young people at the Walkden Music Festival. The festival was held for the second year in Parr Fold Park, Walkden. Organiser Rory Browne had attracted a good line up of bands and DJs to perform at the festival.

Although the day started out with torrential rain, the afternoon sun brought out the crowds to listen to the DJs and bands with the headline act being the rap artist and reggae singer, Deadly Hunta.

Barbara said:

“It was great that local people could enjoy another free music festival in Walkden. Congratulations to Rory Browne for organising a successful festival for the second time.

When I visited the festival, the crowd were enjoying the music and the police and officials were happy with the way the event had been run. I hope we see many more music festivals locally  – with maybe a bigger event next year.”
