Barbara presents prizes to St Mark’s Year Six leavers

Barbara attended a leavers assembly at St Mark’s Primary in Walkden on Friday to present departing Year 6 pupils with prizes and mementoes of their time at the school.

Barbara met with the children after being welcomed by Headteacher Ms Johnson, and marked their acheivements with a series of special presentations.

Speaking after the event, Barbara praised the work of the school, saying:

The high standards and quality of teaching here at St Mark’s contiunes to provide the children with a good start in life, and prepares them well for their next big step.

“One of the most rewarding aspects of my job is the opportunity to see the excellent work being done at schools across the area. The staff and children here have worked hard over the last academic year and it is right that we pay tribute to them today.

“I was delighted to be invited to St Mark’s and enjoyed meeting everyone associated with the school."
