Barbara visited Bridgewater Primary Schools to hand over 6 Urban Cricket kits to the pupils.
The kits are a lightweight cricket bat and ball designed to be used in many areas, so that it is easy and fun to play and practice cricket. The kits were sent on to Worsley after Barbara Keeley attended an event at Westminster about Urban Cricket.
England cricketer, Kevin Pietersen, has praised the Urban Cricket project saying:
"I feel like Urban Cricket made a real impact, increasing kids' interest in cricket simply by giving them the chance to play the way I started – with my friends in the street."
"I hope that the Urban Cricket sets help more of the boys and girls at Bridgewater Primary school to take part in sport and that they enjoy playing cricket - and we may develop more future stars of the sport this way."
