Barbara shares local views on Social Care at Westminster

Barbara this week shared views from Worsley people on social care issues with the General Social Care Council (GSCC) at a meeting in Westminster.

Major reforms are being introduced to start to tailor the social care system to each user’s individual needs. The GSCC, the social care workforce regulator, is looking closely at how this could affect front line staff. Barbara was invited to share her knowledge of her constituent's experiences of social care locally at the Parliamentary event entitled ‘Getting Personal Care Right.’

After the event, Barbara said:

”The social care reforms which are being introduced from this month will provide a more personalised service. The role of social care staff is changing to one of listening to the individual's needs and advising them on better solutions and I welcome that change. I look forward to seeing major developments in social care which will benefit my constituents in Worsley."
