Barbara to Go the Distance for Christie Crew

Barbara is taking part in a 10K run this weekend to raise funds for the Young Adult Oncology Unit at Christie Hospital.

Last year Barbara visited the unit and met with 2 Worsley constituents receiving treatment at the Christie's Young Adult unit. The 2 young people were members of the "Christie Crew". Barbara later hosted the group on a visit to Westminster and is pictured with the group when they visited Downing Street for pictures during their visit (see attached photo).

Barbara said:

"I am running in this event because I want to do what I can to help the work of this unit at the Christie Hospital."

"I saw on my visit to the unit how important it is for young people to be together when they are going through a course of treatment. I think the staff at the Young Adult Oncology Unit do a great job and I hope the run on Sunday is a great success in terms of raising funds"
