Barbara urges you to vote for your top Salford photo

MEN profile The search for Salford's top photographs starts today as votes open for people to pick their favourite snaps which will be used on billboards to promote the city.

For the past six months, budding photographers have been sending in their photographs for Salford City Council's 'As seen in Salford' competition.

From the entries, 30 finalists have been selected in a race to see their photographs used on an advertising campaign to promote Salford as a tourist destination as part of the city council's ongoing Visit Salford campaign.

From today, the public will be able to vote for their favourite photographs online at or at the tourist information centre at The Lowry.

There will be a winner from the votes made at The Lowry and a separate winner from the online votes.

The photographs will also go up in front of a panel of judges who will pick an under 16s winner and an overall champion.

The four winning photographs will be used in the advertising campaign and each of the finalists will be presented with their work on a canvas.
