Barbara celebrates improvement in GCSE grades by Salford over last 10 years

BK in West CloisterBarbara has today congratulated Salford students, teachers and the City Council for reaching the list of top 20 most improved local authorities, due to the improvement in GCSE grades achieved in Salford schools since 1998.

Barbara said:

“I am very pleased to see today’s results, which show that 63.1 per cent of 15-year-olds in Salford achieved five or more A* to C grades at GCSE level. This represents a 29.8 per cent increase since 1998 and means more and more of our young people are gaining a firm foundation for further education, apprenticeships or the work based training that they want to do. I’d like to pay tribute to the hard work of our schools, teachers, parents and pupils in bringing about this fantastic result.”
