Barbara helps open Ellenbrook Community Primary School’s new ‘Community Friendship Garden'

Barbara recently helped open the new ‘Community Friendship Garden’ in the grounds of Ellenbrook Community Primary School.  Barbara joined the Mayor and Mayoress at as part of the official opening ceremony where she unveiled the garden’s new sign.

The garden was funded and built by the local community and it is designed to be a peaceful and attractive place for pupils to enjoy.

Barbara said:

“The garden is a great idea. It is a place where pupils are encouraged to resolve their arguments and to make friends.  I particularly like the olive tree which is planted in the centre and symbolises the peaceful nature of the garden.

“This is a true community project – children from every class in the school and representatives from the local community were invited to plant trees and plants in the garden.

“I was delighted to unveil the sign to mark the official opening of the garden and I hope the children will enjoy using it in the months and years to come.”
