At an event hosted by the Association of Community Rail Partnerships, Barbara met Freccles (Friends of Eccles Station) member Eoan Edwards.

Rail Minister,Theresa Villiers, and other MPs also attended and praised the work of groups like Freccles. Representatives of Northern Rail and Network Rail also attended the meeting.

Barbara said:

“I was pleased to welcome Eoan to Parliament. I introduced him to the Rail Minister and told her about the excellent work being done by Freccles. Community Rail Partnerships can be vital in bringing new life to local rail stations where they really improve the environment of the station.

“Freccles also campaigns for improved rail services and I am keen to raise the issues with Ministers about the extra trains and carriages that we need to improve services at Eccles and other local stations."
