Barbara speaks out about Budget disappointment for Salford families

Family1Barbara has spoken in the Budget debate on the Conservative Chancellor’s Budget, which she said has failed to give people in Salford the support they were hoping for.

Barbara said:

“Families in Salford might have been looking to the Conservative-led Government’s Budget for help but they will not be getting any help.

“Locally people are struggling with rising unemployment and the increasing cost of living as prices rise faster than wages.   This year thousands of families in Salford will be affected by the Bedroom Tax, pensioners will be affected by the Granny Tax and parents have lost Child Benefit.

“The only help George Osborne is offering parents is a childcare scheme which will not start for two and a half years.   He turned his back on families and chose instead to go ahead with a tax cut which will give 13,000 millionaires back £100,000 each.

“Salford families are paying the price for the Conservative-led Government’s failing economic policies.  We need a new plan that will kickstart the economy and will give real help to families now.”
