Barbara Keeley MP

Barbara stands up to prejudice and honours victims of the Holocaust

Barbara signed a Book of Commitment in the House of Commons to mark Holocaust Memorial Day and to honour those who died in the Holocaust.

Sunday January 27th marks the 68th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau, the Nazi concentration and extermination camp which is the site of the largest mass murder in history. This year, people are also encouraged to honour all communities destroyed in subsequent genocides.

Barbara said:

“It is important to mark Holocaust Memorial Day by remembering the appalling events of the Holocaust and by honouring all the victims. We also honour other communities destroyed by genocide.

“It is also important that we join together to overcome prejudice and that we challenge all forms of hatred and bigotry.”
