Barbara to run the City of Manchester 10K race to help raise money for the Lewis Flint appeal

BK City of Salford RunBarbara is running in the City of Manchester 10K on Sunday 5th July to help raise funds for 3 year old Lewis Flint who lives in Boothstown.

Lewis has cerebral palsy and the appeal for funds is to enable Lewis to attend the Bobath Centre in London on a regular basis, where he will be able to benefit from specialist therapy sessions and the use of communication equipment.

Barbara said:

“Lewis’s parents feel that he benefited greatly from a previous visit to the Bobath Centre where he received intensive speech therapy, physiotherapy and occupational therapy. It was recommended that Lewis would benefit from visits to the Centre every 6 months.

“The Bobath Centre is a charity, not part of the NHS. Two visits a year would cost his family more than £6,000 each year.

“In order to pay for future visits, Lewis’s parents are raising funds within the local community in Worsley. I am supporting their fundraising efforts by taking part in the City of Manchester 10K Run."
