Barbara visits local Tesco stores to present new equipment to schools

Barbara recently visited the Tesco stores in Walkden and Irlam to present children and teachers from local schools with new equipment.

The schools received the equipment as part of the Tesco for Schools and Clubs scheme, which gives a variety of useful items such as cameras, sports equipment and whiteboards in exchange for vouchers.  The Tesco scheme is now in its 21st year.

During the visits, Barbara met children and teachers from St Edmund’s RC Primary School in Little Hulton, Irlam Primary School and St Teresa’s RC Primary School in Irlam and Cadishead Primary School.

Barbara said:

“I was pleased to be asked to help present the new equipment to the children and teachers from the primary schools in Walkden, Irlam and Cadishead.

“This is a great scheme which enables local schools and clubs to redeem vouchers for new equipment that will benefit the children.  It is also a good way for Tesco to give something back to local communities and for parents and shoppers to help schools and clubs in their area.”
