Barbara welcomes decision to continue Sunday services at Walkden Rail Station

Barbara has welcomed the Greater Manchester Integrated Transport Authority’s decision to continue the funding of Sunday services at Walkden Rail Station.

Barbara had urged the Authority to back proposals to continue with the service that runs from the station towards Manchester Victoria and Wigan.

Barbara said:

“I am pleased that Greater Manchester Integrated Transport Authority has decided to continue funding the Sunday service at Walkden Station.

“I campaigned for the introduction of this service and am pleased that the success of the trial, which started last May, has convinced the Transport Authority to continue with the funding.  This is great news for local people.

“I will continue to call for more improvements to the services and the station facilities for local residents, keeping Sunday services is very important for local people.”
