Barbara is very pleased that the Worsley Woods Action Group has recently confirmed that the popular play area in Worsley Woods is to be refurbished.

The new play area will be suitable for all ages, from young children to adults, with a range of equipment spread over a large woodland area. Included will be a swing, especially suited to children with special needs. The ground surface will be improved to make it better able to withstand inclement weather.

Salford City Council has provided the majority of the funding for this project but this has been supplemented by money raised by Worsley Woods Action Group through support from the local community and donations to a Justgiving page. Donations were also received from Worsley Rotary, St Mark’s School (an Easter Egg Hunt) and Bridgewater School (production and sale of calendars).

The old equipment has now been removed and the new equipment should be installed in the late spring. It will be regularly maintained and managed by Salford Council Ranger Team.
