Due to the impact of COVID-19 on policing and the community, Greater Manchester Police is looking to re-engage retired police officers.
Currently, 1,332 police officers and staff are away from work because of COVID-19. 1,350 police officers retired from the Greater Manchester Police between 2014 and 2019.
Retired police officers are therefore being asked to re-offer their services to the community.
There are a range of roles available:
- Dealing with local investigations
- Front Line roles
- Supporting call handling
- Taking reports from the public
If you are a retired police officer able to help Greater Manchester Police during these unprecedented, please email Covid19Rejoiners@gmp.police.uk.
