Barbara Keeley Labour Member of Parliament for Worsley & Eccles South
This afternoon Barbara spoke at the Boundary Commission for England public hearing in Manchester.
The current Boundary Commission proposals include plans to move Little Hulton, Walkden North and Walkden South into the Bolton South constituency. It would move Astley Mosley Common and Eccles into our constituency which would be re-named ‘Worsley and Eccles’.
In her speech she spoke strongly against moving Little Hulton and Walkden out of our Salford constituency. The Salford bonds, history and culture in these towns are too strong to be overlooked in this matter.
Barbara urged the Boundary Commission to reconsider the plans for Worsley and Eccles South constituency.
