“I was saddened to hear of the death of Councillor Vincent Devine. Vincent had been ill and was in Salford Royal Hospital but his death will be a shock to his many friends and colleagues.

“Vincent was a long serving member of the Labour Party and a well respected councillor in Walkden North for many years. His contribution to the community in Salford and to the ward he represented will be warmly remembered.

“He will be greatly missed in the local community and on the City Council.

“I have passed my sincere condolences on to Vincent’s family.”

The funeral will take place as follows:

Wednesday 22 December 2010 at 1.00 pm.

St. Edmund's RC Church, Bridgewater Street, Little Hulton, M38 9ND followed by committal at Agecroft Crematorium at 2.20pm.
