Barbara recently visited Harrop Fold school and toured the new school buildings which are open to pupils on September 12th. On her visit Barbara also met the staff team as they prepared for the new term in the new school building.
Barbara has congratulated Harrop Fold School’s pupils and staff on their achievements in this year’s GCSE results. The number of pupils gaining 5 or more GCSEs at grades A*-C went up to 51%, and the number of those gaining both English and Maths among these grades rose to 32%. These results mean that the school has exceeded the standard set by the National Schools Challenge in June this year.
The National Challenge initiative aims to ensure at least 30% of pupils at all schools achieve 5 A*-C GCSEs including English and Maths. This year’s results at Harrop Fold represent a significant and impressive achievement.
“It is great to see such an improvement in the results at Harrop Fold. Both staff and pupils have worked exceptionally hard for these results and the hard work is now paying off. We want to see all our children and young people achieving their full potential and Harrop Fold is playing a key role in that for all the pupils there.
“I congratulate all the pupils, the staff and the Headmaster on their hard work and their success. Now that the school has all the wonderful facilities in the new school building, Harrop Fold can go from strength to strength.”
