Housing Minister Caroline Flint visits Worsley

Housing Minister, Caroline Flint, made a visit to meet Barbara Keeley and to visit a project in Salford West.

The first part of the Minister's visit was to a housing project called Fielders Lodge in Winton. The project was brought together by Salford Council, Salford PCT and other organisations to provide supported housing for vulnerable women.

At the next stage of her visit, the Minister met Council Cabinet members and officers to discuss housing issues in Salford. Finally, Caroline Flint and Barbara Keeley met members of the Labour Party In Worsley and Eccles South.

Barbara said:

"It was great that Caroline could spare the time for these 3 events in Salford West and we had the chance to talk through some vital issues with her. Affordable housing is of concern to many of my constituents so it was very useful to hear Caroline Flint's ideas and plans and I believe it is very important for senior government ministers to visit Worsley and Salford to understand our local situation."
