Let's Talk event takes place in Atherton

A discussion between residents, the local MP and Atherton Ward councillor, Karen Aldred, took place this morning at the Botanical Gardens Social Club in Atherton.

Barbara and Karen Aldred talked to local residents about their concerns for Atherton and the wider local community. Issues raised at the meeting ranged from anti-social neighbours to improvements that had been made to homes in the Atherton area. The residents also talked about their ideas for improving the area and making Atherton a better place.

Barbara said:

"It was useful to meet with local residents and hear their views on a range of topics. It was interesting find that many people think that life in their area is improving, but people feel that we still have more to do.

"Everyone I spoke to today was concerned about local issues, but there were various issues raised in the each of the groups I sat with. I enjoyed listening to what local people had to say and will be passing on those concerns to the government."
