Barbara attended an event run by Young Minds in Westminster this week which aimed to highlight to MPs what schools should be doing to promote the wellbeing of their pupils.
Barbara says:
“At the moment 3 children in every classroom will be struggling with a mental health problem. Children and young people’s mental health is a big issue but the current Ofsted inspection framework doesn’t place enough value on this.
“Young Minds has been campaigning on wellbeing in schools through the Wise Up campaign and is encouraging young people, school staff, parents and members of the public to take part in Ofsted’s consultation on what makes a school outstanding.
“The young activists had drawn up a picture of what an outstanding school would look like and in what ways it would support the wellbeing of its pupils.”
