The initial report from the Boundary Commission has been published, suggesting changes to the Parliamentary constituencies covering Salford. These changes are being made to ensure that all Parliamentary constituencies across the country are the same size.

Under these initial proposals, Walkden and Little Hulton would be moved into a proposed Bolton South & Walkden Constituency, while Eccles and Swinton & Wardley wards would be moved into the Worsley and Eccles Constituency, along with the Astley Mosley Common ward from Wigan.
