The Christmas spirit is alive and well in Worsley

BK ChelseaBarbara is delighted to announce the winners of the 2008 Christmas Card Competition. The winning entry to design a card for the Worsley MP has been chosen from entries submitted by primary school children from the constituency.

The winner and runners up are as follows:

1st Prize – Chelsea Palmer-Field from Peel Hall Primary School
2nd Prize – Jennifer Kane from Christ the King RC Primary School
3rd Prize – Thomas Gibbons from Boothstown Methodist Primary School

Barbara said:

“I am impressed by the standard of this year’s entries. Local children sent in some wonderful designs. The final decision was very hard but it was a pleasure to look through all the entries. Awarding prizes to the winning entries will be equally enjoyable.

The First prize is a Christmas party for the winner and five friends at Namco Station, as well as a video Ipod; The second prize is four tickets to see the Wizard of Oz at the Lowry Theatre and the third prize is a £20 gift voucher from Tesco in Walkden.

“The winner’s drawing is now in the process of being reproduced as my official Christmas card and will be sent to local schools, businesses, community groups and to colleagues from across the country and abroad – and of course to the Prime Minister.

“This is the third time I have organised this Chrismas Card competition. I would like to thank all the Headteachers and class teachers who encouraged their pupils to take part. I am particularly grateful to our design partners The Image Group and the card and prize sponsors Catalyst Lendlease, Namco Station, The Lowry and Tesco in Walkden.”
