On Friday 23rd October Barbara will be holding a Britain’s Best Breakfast event at the Walkden Gateway to raise money for the Carers Trust.  The event is being held from 9.30am to 11am at Walkden Gateway, 2 Smith Street, Walkden M28 3EZ.

Carers Trust works to improve support, services and recognition for people who are caring, unpaid, for a family member or friend who is ill, frail or disabled. Carers Trust aims to ensure that information, advice and practical support are available to all carers across the UK and has a well-established Carer’s Centre in Salford. The aim of the “Britain’s Best Breakfast’ campaign is to raise money to help support more unpaid carers and to give them a break from their caring role.

Kellogg’s in Trafford Park have kindly pledged to donate breakfast products for the event.

Barbara said:

“The Carers Trust does vital work in supporting unpaid carers, providing information and advice, desperately-needed respite breaks, support schemes for young carers and much more. The Salford Carers Centre does a great job and I am pleased to be hosting this breakfast event to help raise money so that the Carers Trust can continue that work here and across the UK.

In Worsley and Eccles South there are almost 11,000 unpaid family carers. This number is expected to continue to rise and it is estimated that three in five of us will become carers at some point in our lives.

“This event is for a really worthy cause and I am delighted to be receiving support from Kellogg’s for the event. Please come along and join me and other local people for breakfast and refreshments at the Walkden Gateway on Friday 23rd October and to help us to raise funds so that the Carers Trust can continue its excellent work supporting carers locally.”
