Barbara has called for urgent action from Salford Council following reports that loud music from Bowlers Exhibition Centre in Trafford Park could be heard in Eccles, Patricroft, Worsley, Winton, Peel Green, Monton and Swinton on the evening of Saturday 26th September and into the early hours of Sunday 27th September 2015.

Barbara contacted GM Police and Bowlers to raise concerns after residents took to social media to complain that they were being plagued by noise nuisance and vibrations from Bowlers.

Bowlers commented on social media that the event on Saturday had been “rammed out” with 5,000 people. However, local people have commented that Bowlers did not reply online to the many complaints from local people on the level of noise from the event.

Barbara said:

“It is totally unacceptable that residents from across different parts of Salford were kept awake by the very loud music and intrusive sound levels from Bowlers. Constituents were disturbed by excessive noise lasting from Saturday evening well into the early hours of Sunday.”

“Angry constituents complained that their children were distressed by the noise levels and unable to sleep. A pregnant woman just days away from giving birth told how she was worried about her stress levels being affected by the level of noise.  I complained on the night to GM Police and to Bowlers. Residents affected told me that the music was turned down for a while just after midnight but that noise levels went up again later, waking people up at 1am, 2am and later.”

“This was not a one-off incident, I have been told there have been regular disturbances over the last 2 years. I have raised urgent concerns with Salford Council and I want to see action to ensure that local people do not keep having to suffer the same misery and loss of sleep.”

“Residents should not have to deal with this level of noise disturbance in their own homes at weekends.”
